Neurodivergent Social Connection Groups

Every child wants to connect. Every child deserves to be themselves.

Social connection is fundamental to well-being and is key to a child’s ability to thrive in our interconnected world. Our social connection groups are a space where neurodivergent children can build friendships in ways that feel most natural to them.

Groups foster skill building through short, guided activities designed to celebrate each child's strengths and interests. This is an identity affirming space where every child is fully seen, welcomed, and celebrated. Peer connections are built in a structured but flexible learning environment.

Students with diverse learning profiles often benefit from tailored social experiences. Our groups are thoughtfully curated based on the students’ age, shared interests, and areas of strength and need. We offer two group levels: Developmental & Intermediate. We also offer Community groups which are free of charge and open to all elementary-age children.

Developmental Group

This group focuses on enhancing positive peer interaction through play. Designed for younger students, with a budding interest in social interaction, this group encourages skill building by facilitating the development of language necessary for social interaction. These groups are typically dyads or triads (groups of 2 or 3 students) because of the need for more individualized support.

Intermediate Group

Designed for students K-5. These groups focus on cultivating skills such as conversation skills, peer relationships, understanding and expressing emotions, self-advocacy, conflict resolution, among others. These groups instruct, model, and practice these skills through motivating leisure activities.

About Our Groups

Our groups meet once per week for 8 weeks at a time. Groups are 50 minutes in length and are hosted in person in Ithaca, NY.
